I don’t have the gear to make a bullbar but the rest of the mods are home-made. There are some significant savings to be made for those who can do their own fitting out work. I’ve listed what it cost me, including all consumables and paint.
A shovel holder and light, which is very handy when setting up camp in the dark (about $20)
Not many people make their own tow bars these days but this one is capable of much more than the car is rated for ($80)
Cargo barrier ($60)
12 inch monitor for the GPS ($100 second hand, plus $6 for parts to build a power supply)
This monitor has since died and I'm looking for a replacement
Roof rack ($60 for the basket. The bars were given to me for free)
Bullbar, winch and driving lights ($1850)
I couldn't make them but at least I could install them and still save some money
